Terms of Service

Last updated: April 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The GM Deck (“the service”, “the platform”), a web application provided by Mirrorhead Creative (“we”, “us”, “Mirrorhead”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who we are

The GM Deck is a product of Mirrorhead Creative, an independent business operating in the United Kingdom. For any enquiry relating to these Terms or your use of the service, contact us at info@mirrorhead.uk.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by local law) to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your password secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@mirrorhead.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. The service

The GM Deck is a toolset for tabletop roleplaying game Dungeon Masters. It lets you create worlds, entity pages, campaigns, sessions, plotlines, timelines, maps, and notes, and provides tools to organise and run tabletop sessions. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you create on the service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, back up, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content, do not share it with third parties (except as described in the Privacy Policy), and do not use it to train machine-learning models.

You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to upload, create, or share it. You must not use the service to store or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, or that depicts the sexual exploitation of minors.

5. Acceptable use

When using the service you agree not to:

  • Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the service or the infrastructure that supports it.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, systems, or data.
  • Scrape, harvest, or automate access to the service outside of documented features.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except as allowed by law.
  • Use the service to send spam, phishing attempts, or other unsolicited messages.
  • Impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation.
  • Use the service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, and in serious cases we may report unlawful conduct to the relevant authorities.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), acting as the merchant of record. When you subscribe, your contract for payment is with Paddle, who issues your invoice and collects payment on our behalf. Paddle’s own terms apply to the payment transaction in addition to these Terms.

Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current price for that plan. You can cancel at any time through the Settings page or by emailing info@mirrorhead.uk. Cancellation stops the next renewal only — it does not reduce or restrict your access during the period you have already paid for. On any plan, monthly or annual, you keep full access to all paid features until the end of the current billing cycle, and are only moved to a free / read-only state once that paid period ends.

We may change subscription prices from time to time. If we change the price of a plan you are subscribed to, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before the new price applies. You may cancel before the change takes effect if you do not wish to continue at the new price.

7. Refunds and cancellation

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. That policy explains your statutory rights under UK and EU consumer law, including the 14-day right of withdrawal, and describes when goodwill refunds may be granted. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the non-waivable statutory rights of consumers.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, and events outside of our reasonable control may cause downtime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue a paid feature you are actively relying on, we will give you reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rata refund for the affected portion of your subscription.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. On deletion, all of your worlds, entities, campaigns, sessions, plotlines, timelines, maps, and uploaded images are permanently removed from our databases and object storage, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, if we are legally required to, or if continued provision of the service to you would expose us or other users to risk. Where practical we will give you an opportunity to export your data before termination.

10. Intellectual property

The service itself — including its software, design, branding, and documentation — is owned by Mirrorhead Creative and protected by UK, EU, and international intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

If you believe content on the service infringes your intellectual property rights, email info@mirrorhead.uk with a description of the work, the infringing material, and your contact details, and we will review and respond in good time.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, nor that any particular content will be preserved indefinitely.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mirrorhead Creative’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty pounds sterling (£50).

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, or loss of data resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the service. This limitation does not affect your non-waivable statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Mirrorhead Creative harmless against claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party rights or applicable law. We will tell you promptly of any such claim and cooperate with you in its defence.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify you by email or through the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before the change takes effect.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute, except that consumers who reside elsewhere in the UK or in the EU may also bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence, as permitted by applicable law.
